WildKite is a bring-your-own-storage (BYOS) media manager. Our core principle: your media files always stay in your own bucket, and the platform is never in the content-serve path. We collect only the minimum data needed to run the service. This policy explains what data we handle.

What we store

  • Account info: your email, nickname and any profile details you provide.
  • Storage connections: your S3-compatible endpoint/region/bucket and your access credentials, encrypted at rest. Credentials are used only to list, read and write your own bucket on your behalf.
  • Media metadata: titles, durations, codecs, references to thumbnails/waveforms, playback positions, playlists and sharing settings.
  • Service logs: we record IP addresses and basic request information (e.g. time, endpoint) for security, rate-limiting and abuse prevention.

What we do not store

  • Your media files. Video/audio always live in your bucket and stream to the browser directly from it via short-lived signed URLs.
  • Platform-generated artifacts (thumbnails, waveforms, HLS, transcoded audio) are written to your own bucket under .wildkite/, never to our servers.

Advertising & tracking

WildKite has no ads and embeds no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. We never sell your data. If a build enables crash/usage diagnostics to help us fix problems, those reports are anonymous and never include your media or storage credentials.

Sharing

When you create a public link for a media asset or playlist, anyone with that link can access the content via signed URLs until you revoke it. Spaces only share storage capacity; they do not let members see each other's libraries or playlists.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS, and your storage access credentials are encrypted at rest on our servers.

Deletion

You can delete your account anytime in the app (Settings → Delete account). After deletion there is a 15-day recovery window; once it passes we permanently remove your account metadata (libraries, connections, asset records) and sweep the .wildkite/ artifacts we wrote into your bucket. Your original files are never deleted by us. While your account is active, this data is retained.
